Lampshade Making Workshop
£30
We all love to snuggle up by the lamplight and get cosy. Now you can breathe life into your rooms with those old lamps and ceiling pendants by replacing them with new shades made by your own fair hands in your chosen fabric!
Come along and learn how to make your own lampshade from scratch! You can bring along your own fabric or choose from the fabric that we have here.
Your lampshade will be a 30cm diameter drum with a 21cm drop (that’s 30cm wide x 21cm tall)
The lampshades can be used for standing lamp bases or for hanging ceiling pendants.
It is a great quality lampshade that is of high street standard and the inner layer that we will use to shape your lamp is fire retardant for your safety.
Everything that you need for your lampshade is supplied, including fabric, although you may with so bring your own ( please see below!).
This is a quick and easy workshop that is relatively mess free. We will have lampshade kits available to purchase at the end of the session if you wish to continue to make a matching set at home.
If you are planning to make with your own fabric, please bear in mind that thicker fabrics such as tweeds will be difficult to tuck in neatly to finish, and stretchy fabrics such as jersey cotton or lycra can warp when making the shade. A firm cotton is ideal, but many other fabrics will work just as well. The fabric will need to be a minimum of 27 cm tall x 96 cm wide. Please also take into consideration your fabric pattern or weave, as you don’t want anything coming up squint when we create your lamp!
Can’t find a date to suit? Please feel free to add your name to the waiting list by adding ‘Waiting List £0’ to your cart to show your interest. This will help us to organise the next workshops.
Please note, that this class will need 4 people to run. If the class is under-subscribed, the studio reserves the right to reschedule. You will be notified at least 4 days before the class if the class cannot run, and will have the option to be refunded in this instance.
Private parties:
At the moment, if you have a group of 4+ people we can offer you a private workshop at no extra cost per person on a date that suits you, where available. Email hello@eastnook.com to discuss the private options
